Student Charged for Bringing Gun to Walter Johnson High School

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A 17-year-old student from Walter Johnson High School was arrested and charged as an adult for possession of a firearm.

Akram Nassir of Bethesda was taken into custody after a witness reported to school security that he had a gun. Upon receiving the tip, members of the Montgomery County Public Schools security team located Nassir, conducted a search, and found a loaded 9 mm handgun.

The arrest followed established safety protocols and involved collaboration between school security and the Montgomery County Police Department. The charges filed elevate the incident to an adult criminal case.
