BROOKLYN, NY – Gershon Kranczer, 67, of Midwood, Brooklyn, has been sentenced to nine years in prison following his guilty plea in August to charges of sexual conduct against a child.

Kranczer had fled to Israel in 2010 after being accused of sexually abusing three female relatives, only to be extradited back to New York in November 2021.

According to investigations, Kranczer assaulted multiple young relatives over several years, beginning in 1996. One of the victims was abused from age six to 13. Another was abused when she was about 11 years old, and a third came forward following his 2021 arrest, detailing abuse from ages 5 to 15 starting in 1998.

Kranczer evaded law enforcement by fleeing to Israel the same day the abuse allegations surfaced in 2010. However, he was extradited back to the U.S. by the United States Marshals Service in 2021. He now faces nine years in prison and ten years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s office has expressed gratitude to the NYPD, Israeli National Police, Justice Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service for ensuring Kranczer’s return and subsequent prosecution.
