Police Arrest One in Armed Robbery of Rockville Resident Outside His Home

ROCKVILLE, MD — Rockville City Police responded to a residential robbery on the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue on October 22 at approximately 4:30 p.m. The victim reported being accosted by two masked men armed with handguns at his front door. Police apprehended one suspect after a vehicle pursuit; the second suspect remains at large.

The suspects fled the scene in a silver Dodge Charger after police were alerted to the incident. Officers spotted the vehicle while responding to the call and initiated a pursuit.

The suspect vehicle became disabled near E. Argyle Street and W. Lynfield Drive. A perimeter was established, and the driver was apprehended near the 600 block of Harrington Road. Police also recovered two handguns at the scene.


The apprehended suspect has been identified as Calvin Walker Hester of the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive, Germantown, Maryland. Charges against Hester include Home Invasion, Third Degree Burglary, First Degree Assault, Robbery, Armed Robbery, and various firearms-related crimes.

Authorities are still seeking the second suspect involved in the incident.
