Car Owned by Missing Maryland Senior with Dementia Found Abandoned in Marsh

MOUNT VERNON, MD — Maryland State Policediscovered the abandoned vehicle of missing person Yvon Camper in a marsh on Mount Vernon Road on October 21. Despite extensive search efforts involving aviation, K9, and dive teams, Camper remains missing. MSP and Mount Vernon Fire Company collaborated in the search.

Camper, 69, was reported missing on October 16 by family members concerned about his severe dementia. His identification and brown suit were found in the vehicle, but there are still no clues about his current location. Local communities are being asked to assist law enforcement with any information regarding Camper’s whereabouts.

Initially reported missing by CPD Officers, Camper is a 69-year-old African American male, 6 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes. Family and law enforcement tried to contact him via his cellphone, which was last located in the Princess Anne area on October 16 at 12:48 a.m. The cellphone is now off.


Camper was last observed wearing a brown suit and may have been driving a black 2015 Infinity with Maryland registration 6DP3312. He has been entered into a National Law Enforcement Database as a missing person, and a Silver Alert has been issued.

Law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information to come forward.
