Brothers Build Full-Size Version of Little Tikes Car that Does 70 MPH

Adam Devine

Brothers John and Geof Bitmead have taken the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, a toy car cherished by children for decades, and upscaled it into a fully functioning, road-legal vehicle.

The duo converted the red and yellow plastic design to include an engine, making the car capable of reaching speeds up to 70 mph. The vehicle measures 2.7 meters long, accommodating an adult driver comfortably.

Photographs of Geof Bitmead alongside his granddaughter Lily—each in their respective Cozy Coupes—highlight the striking size difference between the toy and its adult counterpart.

Though the vehicle was engineered to comply with road regulations, it is no longer used on public streets. Nevertheless, the Bitmeads have turned a childhood dream into a full-scale, operational reality.

The creation garnered attention for precisely replicating the original toy’s design while adding features like an engine to accommodate adult drivers.

With this unique venture, the Bitmead brothers have blurred the lines between childhood nostalgia and adult engineering, capturing the imaginations of all ages.
