Construction at Cologne Avenue and White Horse Pike Intersection

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Road construction at the Cologne Avenue and White Horse Pike intersection will begin on Monday, October 30 and continue through Friday, November 3.

Scheduled daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the construction aims to improve motorist safety through the installation of new traffic pole standards and designated turn lanes. The project will also include pedestrian-friendly additions such as new sidewalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons, and countdown-style pedestrian signal heads. Infrastructure enhancements include underground conduit wire and junction boxes.

The Galloway Township Police Department urges motorists to avoid the area during the designated construction times, as delays are expected due to lane closures. The department also noted that while the construction may cause short-term inconvenience, the long-term benefit will be enhanced safety at this busy intersection.

For ongoing updates about the construction schedule, which may change due to weather or other factors, motorists can check the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s traffic information website at www.511nj.org.
