Delaware Woman Arrested for August Burglary and Recent Shoplifting

DOVER, DE – The Delaware State Police have arrested Lori Davenport, 44, of Clayton, Delaware, in connection with a burglary that took place in Dover in August.

The arrest occurred on October 26, after Davenport was found shoplifting at a Walmart located at 36 Jerome Drive in Dover.

Troopers initially responded to a burglary report on August 21, at a residence on the 1000 block of Dinahs Corner Road in Dover. The 53-year-old homeowner reported several missing items.


A witness had contacted the homeowner on August 18, reporting a suspicious woman seen leaving his property in a green sedan with a weed whacker protruding from the vehicle. Through investigation, Troop 3 Property Crimes Detectives identified Davenport as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On October 26, troopers received a report of Davenport shoplifting at the Walmart in Dover. Upon arrival, she was located inside the store and taken into custody without incident. Davenport was charged with Burglary Second Degree and Theft Over $1,500, both felonies. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on her own recognizance.
