Early Morning Shooting Outside Akron Bar Results in One Fatality

AKRON, OH – Early Saturday, around 12:40 a.m., a shooting incident occurred outside a bar on the 300 block of E. South Street, according to Akron Police Cpt. Michael Miller.

Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was quickly taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he passed away due to his injuries.

Subsequent reports highlighted another victim, a 37-year-old man, who had multiple gunshot injuries from the same event. This individual managed to reach the hospital on his own.


Currently, the Akron Police Department has made no arrests and the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting remain vague. The police believe an unidentified individual fired the shots outside the bar.
