Fatal Shooting in East Cleveland Leaves One Dead

EAST CLEVELAND, OH – A man, identified by the medical examiner as Damein D. Cook, 44, was shot early Saturday morning in East Cleveland.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of Elderwood and Strathmore upon reports of gunshots and discovered Cook in the street, injured from multiple gunshot wounds.

Cook was rushed to University Hospital but was later pronounced dead.


The events leading up to the shooting and any potential suspects remain unknown. The East Cleveland Police Department is investigating the incident.
