Suspect Arrested in Chambersburg Shooting

FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA – Evan Lamarr Sears was arrested in Martinsburg, West Virginia, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The arrest follows a Monday shooting incident in Chambersburg.

Sears now faces multiple charges including one count of Criminal Attempt Homicide and four counts of Aggravated Assault among others.

Earlier, at around 9:30 a.m., officers had responded to 109 Garfield Street upon reports of a shooting.


The victim, found with gunshot wounds to the leg and hand, indicated the shooting occurred at 768 South Main St. Following medical attention, the extent of his injuries remains uncertain.

The Chambersburg Police Department believes this incident to be isolated and assures the public of their safety. They ask individuals with relevant information to contact them directly or leave an anonymous tip on Crimewatch.
