Hazmat Called for Box Truck Fire in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to a box truck engulfed in flames earlier today. Monmouth County Hazmat is conducting an investigation following the incident.

The fire, which was successfully extinguished by local fire companies, led to the closure of the intersection at Lloyd Road and Church Street. Detours are in place and officials are advising motorists to find alternative routes to avoid the area.

The driver of the box truck was unharmed, and no damage to nearby structures has been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.


Authorities commended the swift action of the Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 Station 63-2, Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical Co. #1, and Washington Engine Co. for their effective response. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
