New Jersey Police Issue Alert for Missing Teen from Nutley

NUTLEY, NJ — The New Jersey State Police and Nutley Police Department have issued a public request for assistance in locating Derek Estrella, a 16-year-old boy from Nutley, N.J. who has been reported missing since October 27.

Derek was last observed on surveillance footage at the New York Public Library on 455 5th Avenue, New York, NY, at 5:11 pm on the day of his disappearance, accompanied by his mother Michele Durkin and her sister Nicole Durkin.

He is described as a white male, 5’8″ in height, weighing around 134 pounds, with brown eyes and long brown hair. Derek’s last known outfit included a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants with a silver/white stripe, red sneakers, and he carried a black backpack. His mother, Michele, was seen wearing a black t-shirt, black or grey pants, black sneakers, and glasses, while Nicole Durkin was wearing a white shirt.
