TRENTON, NJ – Richard Orlandini, a 62-year-old formerly of Camden County, faces multiple charges, including arson and insurance fraud, stemming from a 2018 incident in Cherry Hill. The indictment was issued by a state grand jury, with an arraignment scheduled for December 4, in Camden County Superior Court.

On the night of October 19, 2018, Orlandini reportedly set fire to his then-residence on Chapel Avenue West.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department reported the house engulfed in flames upon arrival and the fire was brought under control in the early hours of October 20. The house saw significant damage and was later demolished. No injuries were reported.

Investigations by the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor allege Orlandini’s act was intentional to claim insurance benefits fraudulently. He is accused of illegally obtaining over $75,000 from Allstate Insurance Company. Interim Insurance Fraud Prosecutor Al Garcia emphasized the severe legal consequences of such actions.

Orlandini faces second-degree charges for aggravated arson, insurance fraud, theft by deception, and attempted theft by deception, which could result in a sentence of five to ten years in state prison and fines up to $150,000.
