14-Year-Old Shot and Killed as Gunfire Erupts Again in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – A shooting in Northwest Washington has resulted in the death of a juvenile and injuries to another, according to reports from Third District officers.

The incident occurred late on November 3, near the intersection of 14th Street and Fairmont Street, Northwest. Responding to reports of gunfire at approximately 11:37 p.m., officers discovered a juvenile male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but ultimately died from his injuries.

Another juvenile male was found conscious with gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of Fairmont Street, Northwest. He received medical attention at a local hospital for injuries deemed non-fatal.

The deceased has been identified as 14-year-old Niko Estep from Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the shooting and urges witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Further details regarding suspects or the circumstances of the shooting have not been provided at this stage of the investigation.
