EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA – Two teenagers are set to stand trial in Lancaster County Court following their involvement in a shooting incident in East Lampeter Township. Omar Jackson, 17, and Nazier Vega, 16, have waived their preliminary hearings before Judge Denise Commins, as confirmed on Tuesday.

The confrontation, which took place on September 12, resulted in gunfire on the 300 block of Greenland Drive. The East Lampeter Township Police Department arrived at the scene after reports of gunshots and observed juveniles fleeing the area. At approximately 4:58 p.m., police discovered evidence of the altercation, including four .45-caliber casings and a bullet fragment, one of which had entered a local residence.

Charges against Jackson and Vega include first and second-degree felony aggravated assault respectively, with both also facing counts of possession of a firearm by a minor and other related offenses. The initial charge of attempted homicide was reduced at the hearing.

Eyewitness accounts and surveillance from a nearby home captured the event, contributing to the identification of the suspects.

Further investigation linked Jackson to Gabe’s discount store where he was recorded in the attire matching that seen during the incident. Vega was also seen at the store moments before the shooting. The public is asked to aid the ongoing investigation with any pertinent information.
