BEACHWOOD, NJ — Police apprehended five individuals early Friday morning in connection with a series of motor vehicle burglaries in Beachwood and neighboring Berkeley Township. The arrests followed a report of suspicious activity involving masked individuals on Neptune Avenue and Elm Street.

Officers Matthew Tapp, Michael Batullo, and Shane Kluxen of the Beachwood Police Department initiated a vehicle stop after observing a car departing the vicinity at around 5:50 AM.

The investigation implicated five suspects: a juvenile from South Toms River, an 18-year-old man from Barnegat, and three women, ages 21, 19, and 22, from Beachwood, Bayville, and Florida, respectively.

The group faces multiple charges, including receiving stolen property, burglary, theft, and trespassing, after being linked to burglaries in the area. The juvenile was released to a parent, while the adults were processed. Three were released on a summons complaint with a scheduled court date, and one woman was detained at the Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

Their names were not released.
