FREDERICK, MD — A Frederick County woman celebrated a significant win this week, claiming the first $100,000 top prize on Maryland Lottery’s Snow Globe 7s scratch-off. The 46-year-old, whose identity remains undisclosed, purchased the winning $10 ticket from Waverley Beer & Wine in Frederick.

The holiday-themed game, which features a play area where players can scratch to reveal symbols, provided the Frederick resident with a windfall when a “7” symbol emerged, accompanied by the six-figure prize. The win not only brings a substantial amount to the player but also benefits the selling retailer, Waverley Beer & Wine, which will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.

Snow Globe 7s is part of a suite of holiday scratch-offs launched by the Maryland Lottery, including scented tickets like the $1 OH, SNAP gingerbread game and the $3 Peppermint Payout Multiplier. Additionally, players can choose from a variety of other festive games, with price points ranging from $2 to $20.

Moreover, the Maryland Lottery has initiated the Holiday Cash Second-Chance promotion, which had its first drawing last week, awarding five players with $5,000 each. The promotion offers players the opportunity to enter non-winning holiday scratch-offs and FAST PLAY tickets, whether winning or not, for a chance to win. This series of weekly drawings will continue through January 16, culminating in a total giveaway of $500,000 to 62 lucky players.
