NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – A substitute teacher in North Las Vegas faces child abuse charges after allegedly coercing two sixth-grade students into kissing in class.
Rasheda Rose, 29, has been arrested and charged with two counts of child abuse linked to the event, North Las Vegas Police reported.
The incident, which took place on October 10 at Legacy Traditional – North Valley Charter School, was first made public in a letter sent to parents on October 12. The school confirmed the occurrence of inappropriate behavior by a substitute teacher contracted through an agency. The teacher in question, they assured, would not be employed at any Legacy Traditional Schools in the future.
Following the arrest on November 1, further details emerged. A police arrest report, cited by KLAS, revealed a witness account stating that Rose criticized the students’ approach to the act and proceeded to instruct them on how to kiss “correctly” while employing improper language.
The school has since communicated with parents, condemning the actions of the substitute teacher and emphasizing the safety of students as their foremost priority.
