SAN ANTONIO, TX — A 26-year-old man faces serious felony charges for assaulting his disabled roommate, resulting in severe burns. Kamron D. Kearney was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a disabled person causing serious bodily injury.

San Antonio Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on Victor Street on October 27 following reports of a woman with multiple severe burns. The victim, an autistic woman receiving disability payments, recounted to the authorities that her roommate, Kearney, had attacked her two days prior.

On October 25, while being bathed by a caregiver, the woman was scalded with hot water poured by Kearney over the shower stall, inflicting burns on her neck and back. Kearney, reportedly enraged by the victim’s accidental urination, stated she “needed to be punished.”

The allegations include Kearney later dousing the victim with rubbing alcohol and igniting it, causing further injuries. Court records reveal that Kearney is currently in custody as the investigation proceeds.
