HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Notable educational and law enforcement officials from Hudson County completed a training program last week aimed at preventing domestic terrorism and violence.

The Tackle! Upstander Training Program, held on November 1, brought together figures from various communities within Hudson County, including Hoboken, Jersey City, Secaucus, Weehawken, and West New York, as well as the New Jersey Transit Police. Congressman Robert Menendez Jr. also participated, discussing with attendees the role Congress can play in community safety.

Funded by the Russell Berrie Foundation, Tackle! is a collaborative effort between Muflehun and the American Jewish Committee to empower local officials to strengthen prevention frameworks against extremism and bigotry.

The training outlined federal, local, and individual strategies to systematically respond to threats, emphasizing community resilience and proactive measures against radicalization.

The Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council, an affiliate of the national body co-founded by AJC, hosted the training, reinforcing their ongoing work to combat hate, antisemitism, and anti-Muslim bigotry through collaboration.
