Wall High School Grad Shot in Head by Stray Bullet on Campus in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN — An 18-year-old Belmont University student, Jillian Ludwig, suffered critical injuries from a gunshot while walking on a track in Edgehill Community Memorial Gardens Park on Tuesday afternoon. The gunfire originated from public housing across the street, according to officials. The investigation into the incident remains active.

Shaquille Taylor, 29, faces charges of aggravated assault and evidence tampering in connection with the shooting. Reports indicate that Taylor was firing at a vehicle when one of the bullets struck Ludwig in the head.

Ludwig, a New Jersey native and graduate of Wall Township High School, was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.


The university community has expressed shock and concern for Ludwig, known for her campus involvement.

The Nashville Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, as the search for additional suspects or witnesses progresses. This incident has raised concerns about gun violence affecting areas surrounding public housing and the safety of residents and visitors in these vicinities.
