Police Continue Investigating Block Party Shooting That Injured Teen Girl

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are intensifying their investigation into the shooting at a Stewart Lane block party on June 2, where a 16-year-old girl was injured.

No suspects have been apprehended, and authorities are seeking public assistance to identify those responsible.

The incident unfolded when a dark-colored sedan, believed to have three to four occupants, approached the party and opened fire into the crowd. The teenage girl was the sole person injured during the event. Additionally, three vehicles parked near an apartment building were struck by gunfire.


Investigators have collected over 30 shell casings from the scene, indicating the use of both a handgun and a high-powered rifle. This significant evidence collection underscores the seriousness of the situation.

As the investigation progresses, detectives are contacting party attendees who might possess cell phone footage or any relevant information. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870.
