RICHMOND, IN – An unexpected attack occurred in Indiana when a man was assaulted with a meat tenderizer by a woman he had never encountered before. The incident took place on Saturday night as the man was heading to his car.
Richmond police, responding to a battery report, were informed by dispatch about a woman, likely armed with a hammer, wearing a windbreaker and black clothing. On arriving at the scene, officers identified the suspect as Faith Garrett, 56. A pat-down revealed a black meat tenderizer with a chrome handle in her jacket.
An officer, upon discovering the item, questioned Garrett about its presence. Her response was that it was “to cook with.”
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was walking to his vehicle around 11 p.m. when he noticed a woman following him. He reached his car in the parking lot and sat inside, leaving the window open. Garrett then approached him, initially yelling. Despite his request for her to leave, she persisted, eventually striking him on the head with the meat tenderizer.
