Nutley Dealer Facing Drug and Money Laundering Charges

NUTLEY, NJ — Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Omar Rios, a resident of Nutley, NJ, on multiple drug-related charges and money laundering.

The arrest on November 9, 2023, resulted from an investigation led by Chief Jason Love of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. Detectives from the Narcotic Task Force, during the narcotics investigation, executed a search warrant at Rios’s residence at 510 Franklin Avenue, Apartment 15, Nutley, NJ. The search revealed over 800 grams of cocaine, approximately $58,070 in cash believed to be drug sale proceeds, cutting agents, packaging material, and a hydraulic press used for compressing cocaine.

Further searches at 94 Bloomfield Avenue in Nutley and a detached garage at 45 Watchung Avenue in Belleville, NJ, identified as stash locations used by Rios, led to the discovery of an additional $273,920 in suspected drug sale proceeds. The Belleville garage also contained 10 vintage exotic cars, believed to be purchased with drug sales profits.


Omar Rios faces charges of first-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, first-degree maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, and second-degree money laundering. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail following his arrest.
