BRONX, NY – Mercedes Tiffany King, 35, faces multiple charges including first-degree Grand Larceny, following an indictment for allegedly selling a deceased man’s home under false pretenses. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced the charges, highlighting the fraudulent sale of a property valued at $675,000.
King, accused of falsely claiming to be the heir of a man with the same name as her late father, profited approximately $350,000 from the sale. She reportedly spent this on a luxury Audi Q8, jewelry, interior design, and artwork. The indictment includes charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Forgery, and Falsifying Business Records.
Arraigned before Justice Kim Parker on November 9, 2023, King’s bail was set at various options, including $100,000 cash. She is due back in court on December 7, 2023. The case emerged after discrepancies were found in her claim to the estate of Edward L. King, unrelated to her, who passed away in April 2020.
