D.C. Police Arrest Five, Uncover Illegal Weapons

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A significant operation by the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Violent Crime Suppression Division led to the arrest of five men on multiple weapons charges. The arrests occurred after members of the Robbery Suppression Unit spotted a man with a firearm on Friday, leading to a chase and subsequent entry into an apartment. Inside, officers found several firearms in plain view.

A thorough search warrant execution at the suspect’s address unveiled nine handguns, two privately made AR-style pistols, over 200 rounds of ammunition, and narcotics.

The arrested individuals include 30-year-old Melvin Richardson, 21-year-olds Andrew Carter and Trikivis Hunter, 19-year-old Quron Green, and 20-year-old Kevin Hankins. Their charges range from possession of unregistered firearms and ammunition to possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device and intent to distribute controlled substances.
