Prince George’s County Police Charge Suspect in District Heights Homicide

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD – A suspect has been charged by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit in a fatal shooting.

Dwayne Houge, 54, from District Heights, is accused of shooting his roommate, Harold James Roberts, Jr., 41, leading to his death.

On last Thursday, around 10:10 pm, officers arrived at an apartment on the 6700 block of Alpine Street following a shooting report. They found Roberts suffering from a gunshot wound. Roberts passed away due to his injuries on Friday. Houge was apprehended at the scene.


Initial findings indicate the shooting occurred during an argument. Houge faces first and second-degree murder charges and is currently held by the Department of Corrections.
