Teen Arrested for Shooting Female Business Owner Will Gel Blaster

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland City Police arrested 18-year-old Nathin William Schroth on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, following an incident involving a water pellet gun. Schroth, a resident of Cumberland, faced an arrest warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an event that occurred on November 7.

Police responded to a destruction of property complaint in the 500 block of Henderson Avenue. Upon arrival, they encountered a female victim who reported that Schroth had fired a water pellet gun at her and a business establishment. This led to an application for charges against Schroth.

The charges filed against Schroth include Assault in the Second Degree, Litter/Dump under 100 lbs, and Malicious Destruction – Missiles at Vehicles.


Following his arrest, Schroth was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center Central Booking. He is currently awaiting his Initial appearance in court.
