New York City Smoke Shops Targeted in Lastest String of Armed Robberies

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance to identify individuals involved in a series of robberies.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday, November 1, at a smoke shop on 51 Madison Street. A 22-year-old male employee was attacked with pepper spray and robbed of $1,400 and a cellphone.

He was later treated at NY Downtown Hospital.


The second robbery took place on Tuesday, November 7, at a smoke shop on 17 Bogart Street. In a similar fashion, a 26-year-old male employee was pepper-sprayed and robbed of $300 and marijuana products.

He received treatment at the scene. The police are working to ascertain the identities and whereabouts of the suspects.
