SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. – District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, alongside Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr, recently announced the indictment of five individuals: Jyzir Hamilton, Alyssa Brienza, Janiah Williams, Eric Freeman, and Arnold Foster. They face charges for allegedly conspiring to smuggle fentanyl into the Suffolk County Correctional Facility.

The case involved fentanyl-infused paperwork, disguised as legal documents. According to reports, the defendants attempted to exploit a defense attorney, unaware of the plan, to deliver the fentanyl-laced papers.

This operation was foiled thanks to correction officers at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility. They intercepted information about Hamilton’s plan to receive the fentanyl-laced papers from Williams, his girlfriend.

Further investigations revealed a complex network involving Hamilton, Brienza, and Foster, who was incarcerated at Green Haven Correctional Facility, in setting the price for the fentanyl.

On August 19, Brienza allegedly delivered the fentanyl-coated papers to Williams, who then sought to pass them to Freeman’s attorney, under the guise of legal documents.
