Suspect Arrested by Police Responding to Gun Shots in Asbury Park

ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Park Police Department has detailed an incident leading to the apprehension of Dyshon Peterson, 35, following reports of shots fired.

On Wednesday, November 8, around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at 120 Monmouth Avenue.

Additional reports led officers to 111 Langford Street and 221 Adams Street. Peterson was spotted and pursued by officers, leading to a brief standoff at Springwood and Sylvan Avenues.


Despite initial non-compliance, Peterson was subdued and arrested, with a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun recovered from his person.

He is now facing multiple charges including unlawful possession of a handgun and resisting arrest.
