WASHINGTON, D.C. — A fatal shooting in Northeast D.C. has prompted an intense police investigation, with detectives actively searching for a distinctively described vehicle.

The incident unfolded on Thursday evening in the 2200 block of New York Avenue. Responding officers discovered a man who had been shot. Tragically, he was found in a critical state, neither conscious nor breathing, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

In their search for clues, detectives have issued a lookout for a dark-colored Astro Van, notable for its differently colored sliding door. This vehicle was last seen moving up New York Avenue in the direction of a McDonald’s outlet.

Homicide detectives are now spearheading the investigation, trying to piece together the circumstances of this tragic event.

The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone who spots the suspect vehicle to exercise caution and immediately contact authorities. They can do so by calling 911, reaching out to the police department at 202-727-9099, or sending a text to 50411.
