One Dead, Teen Injured in Two Shootings in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. – The Durham Police Department reported two separate shooting incidents on Wabash Street, occurring within hours of each other.

The first incident, which took place around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, involved a 19-year-old victim, Jeremiah Issac Williams II.

Officers, responding to a ShotSpotter alert, found Williams with a gunshot wound. He later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.


A second shooting occurred in the vicinity of McDougald Terrace on Wabash Street shortly after. No injuries were reported in this incident.
