PALM COAST, FL – An 11-year-old student at Indian Trails Middle School was arrested on Thursday, for sending threatening text messages.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) received a report about the texts, which included threats to kill fellow students.

The student was apprehended at a relative’s residence and charged with Written Threats to Kill or do Bodily Harm. He was initially taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility before being transferred to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

Sheriff Rick Staly emphasized the seriousness of such threats under Florida law, asking parents to educate their children about the consequences of making violent threats.
