FARMINGDALE, NY – On Monday, District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney commended the New York State Police, particularly Major Stephen J. Udice, for hosting the “Deadly Driving is No Accident” media event.

The event aimed to discuss efforts to ensure the safety of roadway users on Long Island during the holiday season, emphasizing December as national Impaired Driving Prevention Month.

During the event, District Attorney Tierney and other speakers highlighted the need for the legislature to pass the Deadly Driving Bill.

This legislation aims to prevent dangerous, drugged drivers from evading consequences due to law enforcement’s inability to identify substances impairing them as listed on the Public Health Law §3306 List of controlled substances.

The event took place at Troop L Barracks, located at 7140 Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY, starting at 10:00 a.m.
