Newark Police Issue Arrest Warrant for Burglary Suspect

NEWARK, NJ — The Newark Department of Public Safety has announced the issuance of an arrest warrant for 36-year-old Jhonatta Silveira of Newark, in connection with a burglary that took place on October 26, 2023. The incident involved a break-in at a residence in Sumo Court Village, where locks were damaged and valuables, including cash and jewelry, were stolen from a bedroom.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives identified Silveira as the suspect in the burglary. Silveira is described as being 5’9” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling on the public for assistance in locating Silveira. The Police Division is actively seeking any information that could lead to his apprehension.
