AKRON BOROUGH, PA – Alexander Bootie, a 24-year-old Akron resident, faces multiple charges following an investigation into his solicitation of pornographic material from a juvenile.

On March 29, the West Earl Township Police Department (WEPD) was informed by a Deputy Sheriff from Wright County, Iowa, about the case involving Bootie and a female juvenile.

Detective Josh Mertz of WEPD led the investigation, uncovering evidence of Bootie’s attempts to exchange Korblox Cash, a gaming currency, for explicit images and videos from the juvenile.

The communications occurred over various social media and messaging platforms. As a result, Bootie faces charges including felony Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Sexual Abuse of Children, Criminal Use of Communication Facility, and misdemeanor Corruption of Minors.

On November 17, Bootie surrendered to the police and was processed and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Heisse, with a bail set at $50,000. The public is reminded that these charges are accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
