Officer Wounded, Suspect at Large After North Versailles Shooting

NORTH VERSAILLES, PA – A North Versailles police officer was injured in a shooting during a domestic disturbance call early this morning. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation into the incident that occurred in the 200 block of Arlington Avenue.

At approximately 3:39 am, the North Versailles Police Department received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance with shots fired. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect in an alley behind a residence. The suspect, defying officers’ commands, drew a handgun and fired at least one shot at the officers.

One North Versailles officer was hit by the gunfire. The officers returned fire, but the suspect managed to flee the scene. The wounded officer was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.


The suspect remains at large and is described as a black male wearing dark clothing. Homicide detectives are actively searching for him and are appealing to the public for any information related to this incident.
