Bomb Threat Clears New Jersey DMV Office

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – On November 2 at, around 3:30 PM, Stafford Township Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission located at 712 East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin.

An unknown caller reported the threat.

Upon receiving the report, patrol units were dispatched to the scene. The DMV building and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

To ensure public safety, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and a Beach Haven Police Department K-9 Unit were called in for assistance.

The DMV and surrounding buildings underwent a thorough search by the K-9 units. After an extensive inspection, the areas were cleared of any potential threats. Following this clearance, all affected businesses resumed their normal operations.

The investigation into the source of the bomb threat is ongoing. Authorities are taking all necessary steps to determine the origin of the call and the motive behind it.
