TRENTON, NJ – Today in Trenton federal court, U.S. District Judge Michael A. Shipp sentenced Dyshawn Moss, 42, of Manchester, New Jersey, to 20 years in prison. Moss was convicted on October 27, 2022, after a four-day trial, for offenses related to drug trafficking and firearm possession.

Moss faced five charges: intent to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Evidence presented at trial included the discovery of significant quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, along with drug-packaging materials, a substantial amount of cash, and a loaded firearm in Moss’s apartment.

The May 24, 2019 arrest at Moss’s residence in Manchester led to the seizure of over 1,000 grams of fentanyl, more than 1,300 grams of heroin, and upwards of 2,600 grams of cocaine. Additionally, authorities found over $150,000 and a 9mm Taurus handgun loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Shipp ordered a 10-year period of supervised release for Moss. This sentence marks a significant development in the region’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities.
