Chris Christie In Jeopardy of Not Making it to the RNC Debate Stage

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has much to say about former U.S. President Donald J. Trump these days. Still, the former president’s once-top advisor doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to talk about his former boss on the debate stage.

The next debate in the process of nominating the GOP’s pick for President in 2024 is the Republican National Committee debate. That debate requires candidates to meet a minimum polling threshold of 6% in committee-approved national polls. He also has to poll above 6% in two state polls in two early nominating states.

Currently, Christie has been polling solidly at between two and three percent in those polls. Right now, only Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy qualify to be on the stage.

Trump has indicated that he will not participate in the debate.

Christie has until Monday to meet the requirements, which he claims he has already met, simply by meeting the 80,000 donor threshold.

“We’ll be there,” Christie said.
