Deer Breaks In at Cedar Grove Elementary School

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A unique incident occurred at Cedar Grove Elementary School this week involving an unexpected visitor. A deer, after breaking through a glass window, entered the school premises.

Officers from the local police department were dispatched to the scene, where they found the deer roaming inside the school.

The incident unfolded as the deer, attempting to evade capture, dashed down a hallway and into a classroom.


The police officers opened a rear door of the school to create an escape route. Their efforts were successful as the deer exited the building and was last seen heading north.

No injuries were reported during the incident, including to the deer.
