Hoax Shooting Call Prompts Lockdown at Naples High School

NAPLES, FL – A reported shooting at Naples High School this afternoon was declared a hoax after a thorough investigation by local law enforcement. The call, received at 1:38 p.m. by the Naples Police Department (NPD) on their administrative line, claimed a shooting had occurred at the school.

Responding immediately, both NPD and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) collaborated with Collier County Public Schools to enforce a lockdown at the school. Officers conducted an extensive search of the campus, concluding that no shooting had taken place and that everyone was safe.

The campus has now been cleared, with deputies and officers assisting in lifting the lockdown. The incident highlights the swift response of local law enforcement and the school’s preparedness in emergency situations.
