MSNBC Finally Cancels Racist Host That Compared Non-Muslims to Animals

MSNBC has finally canceled Medhi Hasan’s Sunday opinion show, but not because he called non-Muslims animals or because he degraded the ‘fasiq’ (one who violates Muslim law).

The network claims they canceled his show because of a realignment for upcoming presidential election coverage.

MSNBC ignored the fact that Hasan was a racist, homophobic, and radicalized Islamic extremist who degraded non-Muslims.

‘We know that keeping the moral high ground is key. Once we lose the moral high ground, we are no different from the rest of the non-Muslims, from the rest of those human beings who live their lives as animals, bending any rule to fulfill any desire,’ Hasan said in a surfaced video from 2009.

Hasan admitted that when he was younger, he was a radical Islamist extremist.

In that video, he denounced homosexuality and compared non-Muslims to animals and pedophiles, labeling those who break Islamic law as being corrupted, drunkards, and sexual deviants who sleep with their mothers. He also denounced dogs and music during his rant. He said disbelief in Islam was a disease of the human mind, an illness.

SNBC announced the cancellation of Mehdi Hasan’s Sunday night opinion show, part of a larger revision of its weekend programming. Hasan will continue as an on-camera analyst and fill-in host. The network communicated the decision to Hasan’s team on Thursday, as initially reported by Semafor.

MSNBC intends to replace Hasan’s slot with an additional hour of Ayman Mohyeldin’s show, extending Mohyeldin’s airtime to four hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, the network is introducing “The Weekend,” a new morning show featuring Alicia Menendez, Symone Sanders-Townsend, and Michael Steele. This program will broadcast from 8-10 a.m. on weekends, starting January 13.

Hired in 2021, Hasan has been a prominent liberal voice on MSNBC, hosting his show on Sunday evenings. In a staff memo, MSNBC President Rashida Jones stated that the changes aim to strategically position the network for the upcoming presidential election.
