NEW FLORENCE, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police, along with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, have charged Christopher McClellan Timko, 30, from New Florence, with aggravated assault of a child, child endangerment, and obstruction.

The arrest occurred on Thursday.

The charges stem from a November 29 incident, where an infant was admitted to UPMC Children’s Hospital with severe injuries, including broken bones and bruising.

Initial treatment for what appeared as a chest rash revealed more severe injuries. Timko, who was caring for the child while the mother was at work, admitted to physical abuse.

Arraigned by Magistrate Judge Denise Thiel, Timko was denied bail. Pending criminal matters are accusations, with defendants presumed innocent until proven guilty.
