WHEATON, MD – Following an anonymous tip, 21-year-old Joe Ramsey of Washington D.C. has been apprehended and charged with multiple commercial burglaries. The tip, received by the Crime Solvers call center on September 7, played a crucial role in identifying Ramsey.

On Monday, April 3, Ramsey allegedly committed the first burglary at Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center, targeting the Cellairis kiosk. He reportedly stole various items and an undisclosed sum of money.

Months later, on Tuesday, August 15, Ramsey reportedly struck again at the same shopping center. He is accused of stealing cash from the Toy World kiosk and then from Rico’s Ice Cream, where he allegedly jumped over the counter and raided the register.

Detectives, bolstered by the tip, positively identified Ramsey as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued on Friday, September 29. Finally, on Wednesday, November 22, Ramsey was apprehended and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. He faces multiple charges related to burglary and theft and is currently held without bond.

Crime Solvers, instrumental in this case, offers rewards up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment in serious crimes.
