Parsippany Police Quickly Arrest Home Burglar in Recently Stolen Car

PARSIPPANY, NJ – Following a report of suspicious activity on Rita Drive on the morning of November 26th, the Parsippany Police Department arrested Nacosh Crawford, a 21-year-old male from West Orange. At approximately 6:23 AM, a resident noticed an individual attempting to gain entry into vehicles and alerted the police.

Ptl. Hughes, while patrolling the area, observed a 2022 BMW x7 leaving a driveway on Sedgefield Drive and a dark Kia moving away with its headlights off.

Upon stopping the Kia, officers identified Crawford as the driver and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen to the Newark Police Department. Further investigation revealed a nearby house burglary, with the BMW x7 and its keys stolen from the residence.


Crawford was charged with several offenses, including 2nd Degree Theft of a Motor Vehicle, 3rd Degree Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, and Receiving Stolen Property. He was also cited for multiple traffic offenses, including Unsealed Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Crawford was initially held at the Morris County Correctional Facility but was released in accordance with bail reform.
