LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) held a press conference on Friday, calling for public assistance following a string of homicides. Homicide detectives linked a single suspect to the fatal shootings of three homeless men between Sunday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Nov. 29.

The first attack occurred on Nov. 26 around 3 a.m. in Southeast Los Angeles, where 37-year-old Jose Bolanos was shot and killed. Two days later, 62-year-old Mark Diggs was murdered in Central L.A. around 4:45 a.m. The third attack happened in the Lincoln Heights area on Wednesday, claiming the life of an unidentified 52-year-old man.

Los Angeles Police Chief Michael Moore noted that each victim was alone in open areas, such as sidewalks or alleys.

In addition to these murders, LAPD has linked Jerrid Powell to a fourth homicide. Powell allegedly followed another victim home, shooting him during a robbery in Los Angeles County. This series of violent acts, targeting vulnerable individuals, has prompted an urgent investigation, with authorities piecing together the events and seeking information from the public to apprehend the suspect.

UPDATE: Powell has been arrested.
