Traffic Advisory: Detours and Road Closures in Egg Harbor Township

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Egg Harbor Township Police Department has issued traffic advisories for the week of December 4th through 10th, alerting residents and commuters of road closures and detour arrangements.

  • West Jersey Avenue Partial Detour (Monday-Thursday): West Jersey Avenue will undergo partial closure for paving works. Eastbound traffic heading towards Egg Harbor Township from Cates Road to English Creek Avenue will remain open. However, the stretch from English Creek Avenue towards Mays Landing will be inaccessible to vehicles.
  • Tremont Avenue Traffic Alteration (Monday-Thursday): On Tremont Avenue, stretching from West Jersey to Oakland, traffic will be alternating to accommodate road works.
  • Mill Road Near Garden State Parkway (Monday-Friday): Commuters on Mill Road near the Garden State Parkway should expect a lane shift or alternating traffic due to ongoing road activities.

Additionally, the department has issued a long-term Detour Alert for Bevis Mill Road starting from September 18, 2023. Bevis Mill Road will be closed from the intersection of School House Lane and Robert Best Road. A detour will be in place to facilitate access for local residents and businesses. This detour is expected to last approximately three months.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to exercise caution in these areas during the specified times. The Egg Harbor Township Police Department aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for all road users during these disruptions.
