Hometown Holiday Lights Up Downtown Washington with Festive Cheer

WASHINGTON, NJ — Downtown Washington welcomes the holiday season with its Hometown Holiday event on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5 pm to 8 pm. This family-friendly evening is packed with holiday festivities, including the annual Borough tree lighting at 44 E. Washington Ave.

The event features the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on a fire truck, music by DJ Rupe, and free horse and carriage rides, weather permitting. Vendors will be present, and children can enjoy selfies with Santa, receiving a small gift.

Additional attractions include a free Victorian photo booth, a strolling brass band, The Warren County Singers, and other seasonal characters. Dove Environmental Education will offer free kids crafts, and a new community ornament making activity allows everyone to contribute to the town tree. Local stores and restaurants will host open houses for shopping and dining, enhancing the festive atmosphere. This event is free and open to the public, offering a perfect way to kick off the holiday season, rain or shine.
